NOMINATIONS
for elective positions of service to the diocese
The
Rev. Jay Atwood is Rector of St. Francis of Assisi, Willow
Park, and has represented the diocese at General Convention as both a Clerical
Deputy (2000 and 2003) and Alternate
(1994
and 1997).
Fr. Atwood was the Dean of the Western Deanery from 1995 to 2002. He has
served on the Worship Commission and Evangelism Commission, and he
serves on the Standing
Committee on the Structure of the Church of the General Convention. He
also serves as Chaplain to the Texas Motor Speedway and the Aledo Volunteer
Fire Department.
The Very Rev. Andrew Bradley is Rector of Good Shepherd, Brownwood, and a member of the diocesan Executive Council. He has served on the Camp Crucis Board of Managers and as a Conference Director. His community service includes membership on the board of the Brownwood Chapter of the American Red Cross and the NOAH Project for Battered Spouses. He has served as Vice President of the Kiwanis of Brownwood and Vice President of the Brownwood Community Concerts.
The Rev. Stephen Jones is Rector of Holy Comforter, Cleburne. Currently he is President of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Catholic Clerical Union and a member of the Youth Ministry Advisory Committee. He has previously served on Executive Council.
The
Rev. Edward Kresowaty has been the Rector at Good Shepherd,
Granbury since August 2000. He came to the diocese from the
Diocese of San Diego, where he served as Chair of the Liturgical Committee,
MC for the Diocese, Treasurer for Clericus, member of the Committee on
Admission of Missions, and as the diocesan representative for Worship and
Liturgy. In this diocese he has served on the Committee for Constitution
and Canons, the Resolutions Committee, Clergy Compensation Committee, and
(currently) on the Executive Council.
The Very Rev. Christopher Stainbrook is Vicar of St. Timothy’s Church, Fort Worth, and has served on the Standing Committee and as vice-chair of the Camp Crucis Board of Managers. Fr. Stainbrook is currently Dean of the Fort Worth East Deanery, chairs the Finance Committee, and serves as the Historiographer of the diocese.
The Very Rev. Scott Wilson is Rector of All Saints’, Weatherford, and Dean of the Western Deanery. Previously he served in the Diocese of Dallas, then was called as Youth Missioner to the Diocese of Pittsburgh (PA). During his years in Pittsburgh, Fr. Wilson took youth on mission trips as far away as Johannesburg, South Africa. Much of his diocesan work in Fort Worth has been in the area of evangelism. He has developed TELET– The Episcopal Lay Evangelism Training for Episcopal parishes.
The
Very Rev. Scott Wooten is Rector of Good Shepherd, Wichita
Falls, and chaplain of The Episcopal School. Fr. Wooten currently
serves on the Commission on Ministry for the Priesthood, the Board
of
Managers
of Camp Crucis,
the Youth
Ministry Advisory Committee, and is the Dean of the Northern Deanery.
He is a member of the Society
of
the Holy Cross and the Catholic Clerical Union and serves on
the board of the Northwest Texas Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
The Rev. Canon Robert Young has been Rector of St. Andrew’s, Grand Prairie, for the past 11 years. Canon Young is a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve and served on the Board of the Anglican School of Theology. He is the former chairman of the diocesan Nominations Committee and is quite popular with his Church History presentations among the Episcopal Church Women and the diocesan Altar Guild.
Gene
Dugan is a member of All Saints’, Fort Worth,
where he is a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Worship Minister.
During his
served
several terms on the vestry, he has served as Senior Warden,
Junior Warden, and Treasurer. The parish has elected him to be
a delegate
to Diocesan Convention for several years. A retired engineering
manager for Lockheed Martin, he has served on the
diocesan
Commission
on Ministry
and Finance
Committee.
He was an Alternatre Deputy to General Convention in 2000 and
2003.
Gerald Gregory is a member of St. John’s, Fort Worth, where he has served as Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Sunday School teacher, chalice bearer, lay reader, EYC sponsor, and delegate to Diocesan Convention. At the diocesan level, Mr. Gregory has served on Executive Council, the Commission on Ministry for the Laity, and as Lay Director for Cursillo and on the Board of the Episcopal Renewal Center. He currently serves on the Board of St. John’s Foundation.
Toby Matocha is a member of St. Peter & St. Paul, Arlington, where she currently serves as Senior Warden and Newcomer Committee President. She has also served as Junior Warden and delegate to Diocesan Convention; she participates in Vacation Bible School. Toby has been married for 12 years and is the mother of three children. Her civic activities include PTA and Project Safe Place.
Jo
Ann Patton is a member of St. Andrew’s, Fort
Worth, and served as an Alternate Deputy to the 2000 General Convention.
She is a member of the diocesan Standing Committee, is a
Trustee of the diocese, and has served on the Commission
on Ministry
for the Priesthood since 1991. From 1995-98 she was President of the
diocesan Episcopal Church Women. She was a delegate to the ECW
Triennial meetings
of 1988, 1994, and 1997.
Kay
Stromberg is
a member of St. Stephen’s, Hurst,
and served as an Alternate Deputy to the 2000 and 2003 General Conventions.
On the diocesan level, she serves as a member of the Standing Committee,
the Commission on Ministry for the Laity, and the World Mission Committee.
She is a former Senior Warden at St. Stephen’s where she now
serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, acolyte, co-chair of the Episcopal
Church
Women,
and as a facilitator for the Little Rock Scripture Study.
Ron Turner is a member of St. Vincent’s Cathedral Church, Bedford, where he is a choir member, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Verger, parish webmaster, delegate to Diocesan Convention, and member of the Communications Committee and vestry. Previously he has chaired numerous parish committees and served as both Junior Warden and Senior Warden. He was a parish coordinator for the 2004 Diocesan Convention. He is a member of the International Order of St. Vincent and the Vergers' Guild of the Episcopal Church. He and his wife of 35 years, Jan, have two children and two grandchildren.
Liz
Young is a member of St. Andrew’s, Grand Prairie
where she has served on the Audit Committee, as a Youth Group Leader, Church
School Teacher, and Choir Member. On a Diocesan level Liz has served as
a member of the Standing Committee and as Alternate Deputy to General Convention
in SW Florida. In the Fort Worth Diocese she has served on Executive Council,
Communications Committee, and as Sexual Abuse Prevention Trainer. Her Civic
activities include serving on the Board of Brighter Tomorrows Women’s
Shelter, as a member of Toastmaster CTM, and she has received the National
Quality Achievement Award.
