The Rev. Canon James P. DeWolfe, Jr.

60th Anniversary of Ordination
to the Sacred Priesthood
May 22, 1943 – 2003

Celebrated at All Saints', Fort Worth,
Ascension Day, May 29, 2003, at 7:30 p.m.
Solemn High Mass in the presence of Bishop Iker
Featuring special music and 15-piece orchestra


Fr. DeWolfe was ordained by his father,
the Rt. Rev. James P. DeWolfe, Bishop of Long Island,
at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Garden city, N.Y.,
for the Bishop of New York.

His first assignment as a priest was at Trinity Church, New York City, as

  • Assistant to the Vicar at St. Paul's Chapel, 1943-44.

His subsequent assignments were:

  • Rector, Grace Church, Carthage, Mo., 1945-48, and
  • Vicar, St. Stephen's, Monett, Mo., 1945-48
  • Vicar, St. John's, Neosha, Mo., 1948
  • Rector, All Saints', Fort Worth, 1949-84
  • Priest in Charge, Holy Apostles, Fort Worth, 1992-96


  • Assistant at All Saints', Fort Worth
  • Canon Pastor, Diocese of Fort Worth, in charge of Ministry to the Aging
