"How joyful it will be to say, as the years pass away and our beloved church remains, that when the moment came to St. Andrew's we were here in her, working the works of Him who has sent us to build for him."...

So was the inspirational message of The Rev. William H. Fox, the first Rector of St. Andrew's, in 1951 when the building program was beginning that would result in a church that is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Diocese.

Having two architects as members of the parish was a valuable asset. Roland V. Miranda, associated with Broad and Nelson of Dallas, and E. Carlyle Smith, Sr., senior partner of Smith and Warder of Grand Prairie, cooperated in architectural design and building construction. The general contractor was Vilbig Bros. Construction.

Of contemporary design, the St. Andrew's Church building has an air of dignity and reverence which proclaims that this is the House of God. There is a quiet simplicity and. beauty without ornate and expensive detail.

Both the configuration of the south wall and the baffles at the rear of the nave were designed especially to facilitate perfect acoustics. in the church.

On Easter Sunday, 1954, after one year of planning and construction, the $60,000 brick structure was dedicated to the glory of God by C. Avery Mason, Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas.
