The
Congregation of St. Simon's Parish
St. Simon of
Cyrene Episcopal Church is a pastoral-size church and predominantly Black;
African Americans, native Africans, Central and South Americans, and other
people of color from various parts of the world. While the congregation
reflects the demographics of the community in which it is located, yet
many of the members come from the surrounding communities in the Dallas-Fort
Worth Metroplex. We have a broad age range from families with young
children to the elderly.
We are fortunate
that many of our members are upper and middle-class professionals. God
has really blessed us with members who are deeply religious and strongly
committed Christians. St. Simon’s parish is special because of its members;
people who hold Christ to heart and serve their God with the faithfulness
of saints.
Mission
Statement
The mission
of St. Simon is to make Jesus Christ known to all people by faithful witnessing
to the love of God expressed in Christ Jesus, in all aspects of our daily
lives, and by joyous worship, caring and loving community outreach, study
of the Word of God, stewardship, fellowship, Sacraments, discipline, accountability,
and evangelism.
Our continued
vision is to build a spiritual family environment in which the love of
Christ is expressed joyously and lovingly in our daily lives, in our church
and in the community.
St. Simon
is a friendly parish, sharp, traditional, liturgical, and Christ centered;
where the Gospel is clearly preached and the love of Christ practiced.
We welcome all people in the name of Christ. |
